Rock the Presidents is the newest production from Childsplay. Alongside fellow editor, Josh Kassleman, we've created all the video elements shown during the show.

Created a graphic type-based 30 second spot for local car dealership Berge Ford.

ABOUT ME

Dennis Valk was born on April 21, 1987 in a small town in the Phillipine Islands. He moved to the US at an early age. After getting a degree in film editing, he interned in the production department at Cox Creative Studios. Currently, he has partnered up with Josh Kassleman and Stephanie Lucas to form the production company Limitrophe Films. In case you're wondering, the definition of limitrophe; situated on a border or frontier.

WHAT I WATCH

I like to spend the little free time that I have watching movies.

I like to follow the works of Michael Haneke, Chan-wook Park, Darren Aronofsky, the Coen Brothers, Todd Solondz, Michel Gondry, but my favorite films are Eternal Sunshine, The Godfather, Hard Candy, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
MUSIC

WHAT I LISTEN

I would have to say that Elliott Smith is by far my favorite artist. I do like to listen to a variety of different genres. Right now, I listen to a lot of Rock, Jazz, Flamenco, Bossa Nova, and Brazillian.

Some of my favs are Liam Finn, Paco de Lucia, Joao Gilberto, Ferraby Lionheart, Wilco, and Bill Evans.
PODCASTS

WHAT I SUBSCRIBE

I'm a huge fan of podcasts. In particular, ones that pertain to movies. I find them incredibly entertaining as I sit in traffic traveling back and forth from work everyday.

Some podcasts that I certainly recommend are This American Life, Filmspotting, The /Filmcast, Totally Rad Show, The Cutting Room, and the Digital Filmmakers Podcast.

WHAT I USE
I've been editing for the past four years. I cut my first movie on an Avid, but I'm primarily a Final Cut editor these days. Below are the programs that I often use.
